What's the tallest tire that will fit a Cutlass without jacking the body height up?

I've typically stayed around the stock 26" tall tire sizes. Right now my tires are 25.7" and wondering if a 27"-28" tire would fit in the rear?

What height would work in the front?

Thanks,

I have 225/70/15 BFG radial ta's all around. You would have to check but I think they are a little over 27" tall. They look good and fill the opening nice. The fronts do slightly rub on full lock but just barely. A lot of guys run that on the front and 275/60/15 on the back. They are very close to 28" and fit nice.

28 is a 275/60/15. Absolutely no problem. The issue is keeping it inside the fenderwell. But if you can do that, you can go even taller than that.

As for the front, it gets pretty tricky. I have tried about a 26" in the front. The issue here is keeping it inside the fender, and not hitting the frame or plastic fender well. Typically the first spot to hit is the frame behind the front tire where it curves.

Thanks guys.

I need to look at a different set of wheels for brake clearance and was doing the math on just how big I could go without issues.

Andrew, i was just curious which brakes you were looking at?

I dont know if available for the Gbody but iknow wilwood now has a 6piston caliper option to fit the 15" wheels. Still not has hard stopping as the 17 or 18" probably but i bet its a pretty big leap over what they used to offer.
