tbi on 3.8, help

help! I installed a tbi and comp. from a 2.8 onto a 86 3.8, it starts,runs,but will not idle or run below 14deg. advance. I rebuildt the motor and put in a poston buick gn 107t cam,computer compatible,holley intake,and used a distributor from a 85 computer controlled vehicle,the check engine light does not come on, this setup is installed into a 87 el camino,previously had a ccc setup.I believe the wiring is correct,any ideas anybody? (I always liked to be a little different) :shock:

the problem is the difference in fuel and ignition maps from the 2.8l ECU to the 3.8l motor. you need to get a chip for the 3.8l that accounts for the mods you have made.

thanks for the reply,I was leaning that direction but was also going to check for vacuum leeks.
