So, I have Ive posted in the past about a th350 that's being put in my 79 cutlass. Well that was supposed to be done approximately 2 weeks ago. The mechanic I had do it was a big mistake, he told me it would take only 3 days. All I wanted was a transmission swap, the stock th200 to a rebuilt th350 with a stage 1 superior shift kit. Long story short, the mechanic kept on putting off the eta until finally its been 2 weeks when it was supposed to only take 3 days to do the job. The job cost $1201.53 with taxes, I had previously put down a $700 deposit the day the car was dropped off. So I owed $500.. Frustrated with how long it took I drive to the shop, the mechanic tells me the reason why it took so long is because the pan broke and so he had to get another one, the bell housing for some mysterious reason wouldn't fit so he had to find the parts to do that, and that the th350 he was putting in is a 4 speed and my car is missing parts and that the shift kit was only on mild and that he had to install some switch to make it fully operational so I have to come back in a week to have the switch installed... , shift kit switch? 4 speed th350? huh.. My first thought was he didn't put a th350 on my car.its something besides a 350.I was pissed... Throughout the whole time of the 2 weeks of me waiting for my car he gave me no call or updates on the work in process that he was doing, just drag about ohh im behind it'll be done this day, then I would callem to lettem know im coming to pick up my car and he would give me more excuses as to why my car isn't finished... SO i toldem this is bad business, you didn't give me no courtesy call, the job was done late, you giving me a break on the rest I owe. I toldem he getting $350 instead of the $500 that was owed. The mechanic refused to take the money, he says he doing me a favor
So its going to small claims court. What do you guys think?
