Do the th200 and the th350 use the same crossmember? Im asking because I want to order the summit double hump crossmember for my el camino but it only says it is for the th350 and nothing about the th200. It would also be nice if I could swap to the better trans later on.

do you want it to fit a th200 (waste of time) or a 200r4 (in which case you want the one for a th400)?

this is my 2 cents and has nothing to do with your question (i'd answer it if i could) but i'd highly recommend going to the junkyard (or bowtie overdrives) and getting a 200r4 trans, TV cable and driveshaft. there are many, many advantages to the 200r4 and none to the th200.
as a double check, do you have 3 or 4 speeds? if you have 4 it's already a 200r4. if it's a 1 piece, integrated tailshaft, aluminum housing 3-speed, then it's a th200. a th350 will have a bolt on tailshaft.
i'm sorry i can't answer your specific question, but i'd hate to see you waste time and money with a th200.

You didn't say what year your car was but the TH200 & Turbo 350 will use the same crossmember. GM didn't start using the 4 speed 4R units until 1984 and the are longer and require a different crossmember that mounts in a 2nd set of holes further back on the drivers side. A pre 84' car will need a new crossmember plus a frame extention to mount it. GForce crossmembers has
some really heavy duty double hump units and the frame extention. These will clear 3"" true dual exhaust. Do a Google search for their site for reference and pix. If you plan to Race your ride, I'd check JEGS and ebay for one of the new lightweight units. I have a GForce in my 80 Cutlass and it weighs a ton! On the up-side it really did stiffen up the frame.

Its an 86. I understand the downside of the th200 and I dont plan to keep it forever. Its just that right now I dont want to take on that project. My goal now is to get my pypes system in. I was hoping that the th200 and th350 would use the same crossmember so that later on when it is convienient I could switch to the th350.

Thanks!

I have seen that crossmember my question is in the description for it, it says for cutlass exc. "supreme". What would be the difference? Why wouldn't this crossmember fit the Cutlass Supreme but would fit other Cutlass models? My car has a th350 by the way. And when I do my engine swap it will still have a th350 but a chevy one to mate to the 383 I'm building.

I dont know about any cutlass.

I orderd the jegs g body crossmember. It looks lighter and its way cheaper.
