Heh, yeah its all over the news here (I'm just outside of Tulsa) They're having a big to-do about the whole thing, they're even having a big 2-day car show downtown, which is all tore up w/ construction... (I'm not going to that one, there's a more local one Saturday I'll be at instead....)

BUT... unfortunately they opened the vault yesterday and found the car sitting in about a foot of water, and it looks like it'd been completely underwater a few times. The bag (or whatever) it is in looked like it'd broke and probably soaked the car. DOH.

I figured it'd come out moldy and mildewed. I guess that was a bit of an understatement!!! 😀 I'd be surprised if anything on it is salvageable.

that's sweet i want to see what it looks like under that thing and out of the water!

Well they "unearthed" it officially. Big deal as they picked it up 10ft yesterday in a test run and everybody saw it then already. lol. Still covered though.

I guess they got Boyd Coddington in to inspect it and see if it'll even run. Judging from the fins and bumper poking out through the plastic in all of their muddy rusty glory I'm betting a big no on that one. Unless they do a quick 'drag pit' style rebuild or something. Which I suppose is possible. find out tonight I guess. Supposedly they put cosmoline inside the engine. shrug. Unless they totally packed it off with the stuff I'm not holding my breath. And even then...

If nothing else we learn what 50 yrs under stanky drainage/seepage water will do to a car!

ya i imagine it smells wonderful inside...

im at werk tonite ..post up any new findings..i'm pissed im gonna miss it unveild..

i had the thought of them doing the switcharoo... witha mint one..and here comes boyd rolling out in it...lol

well, breakin news here in oklahoma city, the motor is not worth tryin to start. the officials are disappointed.

Yahoo Photos has about 50 pics. Interior is TOTALLY trashed.
They had stored gasoline and motor oil in the vault, in case the internal combustion engine was obsolete by 2007. Wishful thinking.

Why? Its mostly plastic nowadays, right?
Sorry, I don't care for the Prowlers. A Viper would be alright in my book.
