Hey y'all! Thanks before hand for any help y'all may give me.

I have an 86 cutlass it has a 307. Ok so the air condition has been removed from the car by previous owner. All of the accessories are on the driver side. The steering pump and the alt. are driven by the water pump. I think It isn't designed to work like this, and the added strain from having to have the two belts extremely tight, so they don't scream bloody murder, is causeing the bearings in the pump to make a noise. It's a new pump.

What my question is, do the brackets from "the parts place" to move the altanator to the passenger side, fit the 307 olds? It's says 66-72 olds350. I emailed the site, and they basically replied "we don't know". They are 150, but I don't wanna spend that kind of money on something that won't work. Have any of y'all used these brackets? If so, do all the pulleys line up and did the brackets fit with no mods? Also what belt did y'all use? I have an eddelbrock intake on the car.

Thanks for all he help guys. Cheers!

Yes, the alternator bracket will work. You'll have to fugure out which belt to use for the alternator..

I'm not sure how the belts are routed on you current setup but I'm thinking that with the new setup, you'll want two separate belts. Each new belt will want to route around both the crank pulley and the water pump pulley.

I'm sure that the Olds gurus will chime in. 🙂

Crank should drive everything. One belt for the water and alternator, and one separate for power steering. And then misc. stuff like smog pump and ac.

Alright ya know what, I'm pulling the trigger. Then I can let the company selling em know if it works, and everyone on here. Cause I'm sure a lot of people rip the ac and smog off thier 307's. Mine has 5A heads, which I didn't think came in 86's thanks guys cheers

Did you even try doing your own research on Google?
Well the first problem is you chose a vendor that is notorious for ripping people off and is horrible with returns. They just want your money, and you paid more than double for brackets that only typically costs $50-75 because you were impatient???

Never ever blindly buy parts without doing the research, especially from someone who doesn't even know what they're for.

Most likely you purchased the same syle AC brackets you already have, I would call and cancel ASAP in the morning before they ship.

You need a non AC bracket setup with the correct pulleys and the short 5" waterpump.
Plentiful parts and information on ClassicOldsmobile.com on this...
Good luck

i did my own research, but nothing was clear. That's why I posted on here. I've been dealing with this for months. So, I have been patient. They have a lot of bad reviews, they also have a lot of really good reviews. It says it's the passenger side altanator bracket for non ac cars 66-72. I've looked on google and eBay, haven't been able to find anything other than these. Maybe my search isn't as good as yours. Help would be greatly appreciated here man. I've had this car over a year. And she's finally starting to run good. Where can I find the correct brackets and pulley so cheap? Thanks
