*******, ga
Just bought my first wagon, got lots of ideas swirling around my brain. Thinking of keeping it retro instead of doing the normal modernizing some people do with their rides. Other than swapping in an LS engine for reliability, I want to keep the body and paint as it is with only a couple subtle mods like narrowing and tucking the bumpers and lowering it the right way. As far as interior goes I am thinking of going with tweed for the headliner and dual bench seats. And maybe even doing some thin simulated hardwood flooring in the cargo area and on the back of the seat. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Lol. That's part of my idea of keeping it kind of old school. Going to try and find some 17" corvette rallys or smoothies rather than going with billit. Run some redline tires and possibly do airbags or just lower the crap out of it the old fashioned way

Sounds like you've got some good ideas. I also plan to keep mine somewhat simple. Narrowed bumpers, steelies with dog dish caps. I like the redline tires, but have you priced them from Coker?...

The tweed does look good, but it is kinda dated. 17" Corvette rallyes would be aftermarket (Wheel Vintiques)....but it would look cool.

Post some pics of your ride when you get a chance. Oh, and welcome to the site. 🙂

If you like tweed go with it! My car has a red/maroon velour look to it. Perfect for a 1981 car IMO. No, it's not the current trend, but I like it. Just wish I could find an 8-trak with some Journey or Foreigner tapes........that would be perfect!

How can I post pics from an iPhone?

Have a builder wagon with all the plastics wrapped in tweed...can't imagine it looked good even in the 90s

Load the pics to imageshack or photobucket and link them to here.

is there anyone that makes a kit for the rear door glass to be operable?

Great looking wagon. As for a kit to make the rear windows operable...forget it. They were never designed to open. This topic has been brought up more times than I can tell you.
You're just going to have to bare with it. :|
