Hi all! I found this place hunting for parts for my 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix. Two tone blue/silver with T-tops and bucket seats and the 3.8 V6. 200K + miles on it. Original paint, engine, trans.....a survivor car. It's a rough car but is even rougher now since this past Sunday when my 17 year old slammed the right side of it into a guard rail "trying to miss a rabbit". I have been buying parts for this car for years and have all the body seals, carpet, mats, seats, seat covers and now I am wondering how much damage was really done to the car and if it is worth spending thousands on body repairs to justify all the parts waiting to go in it. Grrrrrrrrrrr! The car has sentimental value as well. The car belonged to my best friend before he gave it to me for the payoff in 1989 (He killed himself in 2000). My wife and I dated in the car in 1991 and it was our primary family car until 1999 when it became a backup to a Tahoe due to our 3 kid family (which became 4 kids and a Suburban in 2002). So the GP has been patiently waiting for kids to leave home and money to become available to do a preservation/restoration on it. Along comes my third kid and he throws a monkey wrench in the mix by wrecking it. I still have to get the car to a body shop to have it looked at and be sure no frame damage was done. It still drives and runs like it used to so I am hoping we can just get it straightened out and continue with our plans. My boy feels pretty bad about it and wants to fix it. So I may be back in here asking about some parts. It is going to need the fiberglass nose piece for sure and the piece between the quarter and tail light and a tail light. Possibly the quarter cuz it is folded in about the depth of a guardrail LOL. Front fender seems fixable. I'll let ya'll know when I do. Wish me luck getting her back to her former glory. Thanks for looking.
