Hey guys I am looking to run a staggered wheel setup. For the front I was thinking of running a 225/45 17 on a 7" wheel and for the rear I would like to know if a 255/40 17 on a 8" wheel and the car is lowered a 1 inch. Will this setup fit.
Those sizes should fit as long as the offset/back spacing of the wheels are correct. I've heard of other guys running even bigger.
I'm looking to run 275/40/17 on the rear and 245/45/17 on the front of my 86 Cutlass. I'm still building my car so the backspacing/offset is yet to be determined. I may just end up running the 245/25's all the way around so they can be rotated. My car will more than likely end up as a daily driver so I want absolutely no rubbing what-so-ever.
The ONLY way to know for sure is to do some measuring. There's enough differance between our car that what fits one may rub on another.
I have 245/45 and 255/45 17s front and rear respectively on my regal. They are on 17x8 Coy's C5 wheels with 4.5" backspacing. Rear tire and wheel combo sits about a finger width from the frame. Im thinkin about going to a 275/50 on the rear very soon though. Still need to get my suspension put on as well.
