I have seen allot of different tire sizes used on here with 16"wheels some say a 245/50/16 other dont. I have an 88 cutlass stock ride height with 235/60/15 on it no rub at all. I am going with 4 GTA front rims I need to know what size tie I can use with no rub

I'm running 235/55s on my wagon...it has the S10 wheels, which I believe are the same offset as the GTA/IROC fronts, Only rub is at full lock, I can hear it catch the liners. With the correct 16" wheel steering box, I believe it wouldn't be an issue. 245s will be really close to the rear frame rails...if the axle is offset at all (and they often are), it'll rub. Thinking of replacing with 226/60 next time, the 235/55 is an odd-duck OE size. Cutty wheelhouse/liner configuration might be a little more forgiving than the Chev.

245 50 16 WILL rub on a Cutlass. I run them anyways because the rub is only bad under full compression travel. Besides, I no longer have any issues after I did some "creative reshaping" of the inner and outer fenders on my car. It took 30 hours to do it right, but now I have another inch or so of sidewall clearance and much more compression clearance. It can even use trimmed stock wheel arch trims.

tires?

what would be the tire for 15inch stock rims..? an how wide can you go on stock, good but affortable

245 is the limit of what you MIGHT be able to fit up front, but it will depend on your specific car and the actual tires you use. Just because it says it's a 245 doesn't mean all 245's are the exact same width. Some are slightly wider or narrower than others, depending on the manufacturer and the product line. Also, your car's body may be shifted to one side or the other with respect to the frame, and the body mounts may have sagged over time which can also affect how things fit. Plus, there are subtle differences between the different body styles of G bodies which make fitment different with each car.

IMO, the Regal and Monte Carlo would probably be the most forgiving when it comes to wide tires because of the round wheel arch shape. I think this applies to the GP too, so by deduction, the Cutlass and Malibu are the least forgiving.
