ok, so i am pretty excited that I picked up two 15x7 olds rallies for $20 a piece. they ended up cleaning up really nice after self etching and then high build primer. right now they just need brown paint to match the other two and beauty rings, (anyone have rings for sale??)

the plan is to have two 14x6s up front with the two 15x7s on back. i was wondering what tire size looks good. i'm looking for bigger in back, but not to look like i'm driving downhill constantly. i plan on lowering the car eventually also (if that affects anything idk.) it only has a v6 though, so i cant put huge tires on back if i cant even spin 'em 😳

pics would be awesome, just wondering what looks good.

one last thing, i'm hoping to get the car painted white eventually, and keep the brown vinyl. do you think brown wheels still?? i was thinking that would accent the vinyl and tie it together?

let me know what you all think. any comment is appreciated.

245 50 15 would probably work (and 235 60 15 definitely would), but get a matching set of 15's for the front. 14's look ghey.

I have 15x7's all around. 235/60 is the biggest you should go up front. 255/60 is the biggest you should go in the rear. Those are the sizes I run. Take a look at my photo album. The rear sits kinda low cause my springs are worn out, but you'll get the idea.
Hope that helps.

thanks guys.

the 255's look pretty hefty then? why can't i go bigger? (just wondering)

no comments on the color situation??

275/60's will technically fit, but its just too wide of a tire for a 7 in rim, and the center section of the tire will wear WAY faster than normal, resulting in what starts to look like a bfg drag radial. I tried running a 275 on my Caprice with 7 in wide rims, and though it filled the wheelwell nicely, it was just too big for the rim. If you want to go bigger, you'll have to step up and get some 8 in rims.

I have seen 14s on front with matching 15s on back and they actually look great. Its works as a semi drag race or street strip look. 14" wheels are lighter than 15s and that is more important for something that is not gong to be a serious corner carver. 215/70/14s 25.9" tall with 255/60/15s 27.0" work well with the gbody and 14x6s with 15x7s. Big little look but not out of proportion. PS I have a jpair of 15x7 Olds ralleys that I would sell for $50.

thanks!! yeah, i think i will just stick with the 14s on front and 15 out back for now.

vern- do you have any pics of a G with this specific tire/wheel combo? from what you are describing, that sounds exactly like what i want. i don't know if i asked you this or not, but do you have the beauty rings for your 15s? if so would you be willing to sell them? Thanks!

plus the whole thing will be lowered eventually 2 or 3" which will hopefully nail the stance i want.

Sorry no pics and no rings.
