hey everyone i am working on my engine swap and needed to get the the engine harness on the firewall to switch it over so i tried to get the plastic inner fender off alone and that wasn't successful then thried to get the heater box out and that was unsuccessful because in both cases there is just no way to get to some bolts, so i gave up and took the fender and support off, while i got it off fine and didn't scratch the paint, was i missing something or is this the only way to get to the harness on the firewall?

on a side note when i get the new computer and harness in i plan on cutting the harness so i can put the fender and inner fender back on the car and have the harness in place and when i splice it back in i would either use plugs so i can connect and disconnect it or just solder it back together

**also a tip for taking gbody fenders off, anyone that has done it with the doors on will know how annoying those 5 bolts on the back of the fender can be. instead of using an open end wrench to get them off which will have trouble with slipping and cornering the bolts, a small adjustable wrench set to the right size from my expirience wont slip off the bolt because the head of it is wider.

Technically, you shouldn't have to remove the fender...
On the other hand, the bottom bolts for the wheel wells are extremely hard to reach.
I just leave them out when it comes time to put it back together.
