Are flowtech shorty headers decent?... Any suggestions to some pretty good headers that aren't to pricey... Around the $200 range.. Need a few recommendations because I will be throwing these on my 79 cutlass 4.3L 260. They will run into x-pipe with true duals.

The only shorty headers for an Olds engine are made by Heddman or Sanderson. Flowtech doesn't make any that I know of.

Just make sure you size the system for a bigger engine down the road because it's not going to do squat for the 260.

Pretty much.

However a 330, 350 or 403 small block Olds would slip right into it's place.

Or even a 400, 425 or 455 big block Olds. 😉

Exactly headers and duals are not a waste. The Sanderson's O351 are a good quality header for you application. A 260 is beyond hope, too small. Most 4BBL intakes will not properly match the tiny port heads. A 307 is even a good upgrade. A A5 307 4BBL intake has similar sized ports but in different spots. I have heard of the SP2P intake being put on a 260, small triangle ports. You can improve the 260, it still won't be fast. Tiny bore and tiny port sucky heads. I have a SP2P intake, no longer made, sitting in my shop. It gives very good part throttle performance but limits top end. A small 4BBL carb would also be needed. As said a 350 or 403 swaps in DIRECTLY and will be night and day better.
