Transmission swap 200 to 350 linkage problem

installed a rebuilt 350 trani in place of the original 200 0r 4oo?and linkage wouldn't line up,1987 monte carlo ss
if anyone have any pics id gladly appreciate it.
 
had a guy tell me the linkage up to the column is not necessary on a floor shift car when making such a transition.
PLEASE HELP ME simplify this project,,,,,smh
 
The cable pulls the linkage at the trans which moves the column. You need your neutral safety switch. If I remember there is a 1/2 nut that holds the adjuster to the shaft from the trans, line up with the linkage on the column. Loosen it set the trans in neutral, line up the column linkage and tighten it. Double check your indicator inside lines up with the correct gear selected. NOT running of course until you are sure it's right. A Chilton manual might be a cheap investment. It will have better pictures then I can describe. I hope this helps.
