So every now and then my starter just groans and grunts- won't turn the motor over. I jump it and she runs fine, volts are 13-15, alternator tests fine. Charge and test battery, seems fine. Try different battery, same thing, runs great until all of a sudden, no start. I pray it's not the fairly new starter. Maybe try a different alternator, the current one won't charge until I hit 2500 rpm, as per this topic http://gbodyforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=42668#.UoAHoidGbN0. I can't see why that would affect anything, but I'm getting desperate. So while removing the battery again, I grab the negative battery cable to re-route it slightly and lo and behold, it seems flimsy at the motor end. Deep down under the AC compressor, out of sight, I found this. Totally smooshed cable end. Unbelievable.
