im looking to buy a set of moog springs. i was looking on the website malibueracing.com and i came down to the moog 5660 they are originally for s10 pickups. im looking to stiffin up the ride of my 1985 olds cutlass supreme. The spring rate is 639 lbs. i got 2 questions I wanted to know if they will be a direct fit? and how stiff the ride was going to be, to stiff or what. Thanks in advance for your help.

sorry one more question i forgot, the 5660 are out of a v6 s10 pickup so will they support the wieght of a v8. thanks

Well, if your looking for a stiff ride 5660's will do the trick.
The 442 front springs had a 420 lbs. spring rate, regular Cutlass models even less, so obviously the 5660 is much harder.
I know some people use them in G-bodies but personally I'd rather not shudder over every bump, and NYC is not known for it's smooth roads.

I'd suggest Moog 442 replacement coil springs as a good compromise between handling and ride comfort; Front springs are part #5608, rear #5379.

5660 is agood choice, stiffer than that gets well stiff. 5658 is only 579 lbs. Stock lame g-body springs are only 340lbs as mentioned 442/GN/MCSS are 420 but still a little soft compared to many 4 door commuter cars today.
