the entire set up you use to run a turbo on the 305 will transfer to a 350 once you blow up the 305. So i see no money lost as long as you run low boost and don't change any internals. If you want to dig into the 305 and build it up in order to stand up to more boost, than I agree with lowpro start with a 350.
