i just bought an 85 ttype as a parts car for my regal, mainly for the rear end. it has a working drive train and ever since i decided to buy it a few weeks back, ive been thinking more and more about doing a turbo motor swap. right now i have a sbc 350 that i was goin to do some work on but the turbo seems pretty interesting. i know 86/87 are the better motors, but is there anything (motor or trans wise) that could be used to build an intercooled motor? or am i better off looking for an 86/87 motor? or is it even worth it and i should just work on my sbc??

from what ive heard, that motor can be worked but it would cost a little more $ bec of how everyhig is set up like brackets etc. but IMO it's worth it. I'm sure people will correct me lol

Go find some one you know with a car that has a turbo. Ask to drive said turbo car. Floor it... once it hits some boost, you will not be able to slap the smile off your face!!!! I say go for it. It may cost a few bucks, but there is a huge amount of aftermarket parts that you can buy, and make lotsa powa!!!

^^ I am partial to turbo engines however

If the motor in the 85 is currently a turbo motor you can do a 86/87 intercooled swap onto that motor the internals will be fine it just got a different block. You will have to drill a oil return into lifter valley as far as block prep. But you will need all under hood and dash wireing along with computer and all the sensors , intake setup, intercooler etc from a 86/87 to finish the swap.
