So i just finished up my engine swap.. the engine is a 350 with a 2004r trans.I took it out for a test drive and the trans isn't shifting right. It takes it a bit to shift into second and third. It also seems to be sluggish as the rpms go up. In first gear it takes off good then it does what i described. So i need some help. I swapped out the intake for a performer and a Perfomer 1405 carb. I also bought a summit racing cable geometry corrector but am using the original tv cable bracket as i was told it would work.
Here are some pics of it.

looking at the angle of the cable tells me its not right.. I did try to adjust it by moving it back and forth with no acceptable results. The trans fluid is correct.
So what am i missing unless the trans is bad which i hope not. I would like to fix this issue so i can finish the tune up on the carb. Is the bracket correct?? what kind are you using?? HELP PLEASE!!

Don't drive the car until you sort this out!!! You'll fry the TH200-4R, it depends on that throttle valve being properly adjusted in order to operate.

Edelbrock makes a throttle/kickdown bracket for this, I'm not sure of the part number off the top of my head . . . it's like 12 bucks.

i drove the car for about half a mile or so. I have been looking but no solid part numbers.. Some of those brackets are freakin expensive so 12 bucks is really good, but i want one that fits good and not the universal ones.

we had similar issues with my buddies Monte Carlo.. but we ended up going with a Holley...and made the bracket work.. try a universal bracket
