I 've got a 85 monte with a 305 and 200r transmission that i swapped for the v6 and in the donar car it was working fine but now the kickdown cable doesn't spring back and was told by a buddy that the spring may be borke or just need a whole new cable .I have never done any type fo transmission work befor and was woundering if anybody has ever done this bofre or if i sould spend so more omey and take it to a pro. 😀

unfortunately i'm not quite getting what you mean by it not springing back, but i'm pretty sure the TV cable is a pretty easy fix. try and find the procedure in a repair manual or online. oddly i can't find it in my haynes manual.
oh, one tip, stop thinking of the TV as a kickdown or downshift cable. it controls almost everything in the trans and proper function and setup/adjustment are critical to the trans working right and lasting.

Thanks for the info i looked in my repair manual and didn't say either and just wanted to know what sombody else has done it. sorry i cunfused but couldn't figure out how to word it right.

i may not be understanding it because i'm stupid :?
it kinda figures, i thought of that link but couldnt remember if it showed the install, and i was too lazy to find it again.

it looks pretty straight forward, just don't lose the wire hookup in the trans.
