I ordered a sampling of different white inks for my hose stamping experiment. No big deal as it's not a do or die situation timewise. Seems like it will arrive on time...sort of. Initially they estimated May 10 delivery.

USPS: Oh no! It got here too fast, we MUST send it on a South Eastern concert tour! So, while looking at the journey steps themselves, doesn't look to strange. Until the fact that the circled post office is where they bring mail to be delivered to me. It's only 5 miles from my house. Typical route is to Atlanta, then Augusta, then to Aiken, then out for delivery . The 3 "A" 's as it were. But no! We can't look like we're too efficient, so we have to send it away so it can come back by May 10. I'm betting it'll be late, now. Idiots.

I'd guess that it wasn't taken off the truck on the 1st visit to Aiken.

I have one better I ordered a crank handle and it stayed in Atlanta for several days

Seen that too. Recently I had a shipment from minnesota come all the way to Atlanta. Bounce around a little bit there, then whoosh...ended up back in minnesota. It showed out for delivery. I guess they figured out they fugged that up, and then whoosh, shipped it all the way back to Atlanta, then it FINALLY made it back to me.

During the height of the 2nd wave of the Covid pandemic, the G-body calendars took FOREVER to get to Memphis, then another 10 days or so IIRC in Memphis. Total time to get halfway across country was around a month.

In contrast, I ordered some customized picture puzzles for the wife from a company in Slovakia. Ordered on a Tuesday, they were completed on Wednesday, and arrived on Saturday. DHL didn't mess around.

I've said it many times. Postal managers get bonuses for keeping costs down and their numbers good. So they play musical post-cons by shipping mail all over the place until someone gets stuck working it. By contrast, when I first started and worked in a mail processing annex- if mail was heavy you were forced to work overtime, no escape. That meant getting off work at 3AM sometimes. Nowadays the mail can sit there and grow a beard before it gets worked.

Or the most likely possibility here...ineptness. I'm not believing they're keeping costs down by screwing these things up.

Postal service sucks but UPS is giving them a run for their money atleast in my area.

Drivers are clueless and no customer service at UPS.
