Hello guys, might sound like a dumb question, but what does this long tube go to, and can it be taken off? It’s just blowing smoke out from under the hood. And If so, what do I use to replace the hole in the valve cover? Thanks

I would say it goes to a rubber 90 degree hose (that is missing) but goes to the air cleaner above and connects to the small filter element that sticks out with the clip holding it.

Crankcase breather tube?
You would not want to block it off. The crankcase needs to vent. Should go to the air filter

That would be better than just leaving it open. Get the correct parts on it.

This is stock V6 on a 79 Malibu to give you an idea. Don't mind the water bottle cap to fill the gap going into the lower part of the air cleaner, the rubber grommet was dry rotted and it was sloppy in there. 😆

lol, all good. I appreciate the photo. I added a hose to it, and it’s good so far
