Hi guys I have a 1985 Buick Regal limited with the 3.8 non turbo that has a rochester 2 barrel carb. I recently removed the carb for work and noticed a loose line screwed into a hole in the back of the carburetor. The other end of the line was not connected to anything and came right out. The guy at the carb shop said it is supposed to connect to my brake booster or master cylinder because it is a brake vacuum hose. Only problem is, because it was already disconnected, I have no idea where to connect it to the car. The red arrow shows the port on the rear of the carb and the blue arrow shows where I think it should go, but I am not sure. Please Help!!

It looks like you have it figured out. I have attached pictures from my Regal. I am surprised you did not notice a lack of braking power or very rough idle.

Thanks! I appreciate the help and this is a project car so i haven't had the chance to dive it for years or start it since i got the carburetor back from the shop, but you say this can cause a rough idle? I'm wondering if it has been disconnected all along because usually it won't stay running unless i have my foot on the gas and the minute i let up it dies. I heard vacuum problems could be the issue but was never sure. Hopefully this fixes it. Thanks again
