I had an Olds 307, but now have a Chevy 350. I want to use the TCC brake switch, but the switch is not working. The 12v is there on the pink wire, but when I hit the brakes, the voltage does not go onto the purple wire. Does the vacuum line attached to the switch need to be hooked up in order for the switch to work? If that's the case, then does the car need to be running in order for the switch to work? I followed the hose and it went with the cruise control, that I no longer use.

The switch with the hose is the cruse control dump switch, the brake light switch should be next to it. Hope that helps a little 😀
Originally he 307 may have had a temp switch and or a relay in the circuit for the TCC, also the Car would have to be warmed up and rolling down the road in what GM called closed loop. Then the ECM would allow the trans to go into lock up. after the computer See's a signal from the speedo buffer and all other parameters are normal. I may have confused you more but I think you might find it easier to just rewire the TCC and by-pass the old 307 wiring.
It just could have a bad switch also.

Thanx, but I also believe that the switch with the hose on it is also the 12v power for the transmission lockup. I read that the TCC solenoid gets its 12v power from a normally closed brake switch, but I can't get the power and I am wondering if its because the vacuum hose is not connected. Guess I could connect it and see what happens. Was just wondering if anyone might no more on it.

The vacuum hose is for the cruise control only and has nothing to do with the TCC. The brake light switch should have two sets of contacts, one for the lights and one for the TCC.

Thanx Joe. Is that fused? Cause I have no power on my purple wire for the TCC. I cut them when I was taking the engine out, maybe I blew a fuse or relay?

FYI. Just found out that the 2 sets of contacts on the brake light switch are for cruise and brake light. The switch above the brake light switch is for TCC and cruise vacuum release. The TCC switch has a pink/black stripe and purple wire. Turns out my switch is bad and I don't know how long it has been bad and my lockup couldn't have been working.

The switch is called a cruise control vacuum release switch. Part #10024217, discontinued. It controls the vacuum release for the cruise and 12v n/c swich for the lockup on the 200r4. Found one on Ebay for around $40.
