anyone have any good ideas? Low budget of course

I have a couple sets of the block letter olds valve covers i could do up, they need dents fixed though. not sure on what color to do . not too crazy about plain gold like what they were, but don't know what to change to. only reason i want to change is because my chrome covers don't have baffles in them.

This might not be the popular thing to say but I would find a real nice set of stock ones and paint them to match your engine. Nowadays chrome is on everything and not very different. The valve covers in the top pic look great on it IMO.

Granted I chose to paint my engine black, but I went with duplicolors metalcast red for my script vc's (haven't had a chance to do my air cleaner yet though, lol).

For a gold engine, maybe high gloss black, with gold script would look kinda neat.

I would like the idea of chrome plating or polishing a set of oldsmobile script valve covers.

I think it would look cool if you did the valve covers gold with black letters. Then get a black stock air cleaner with that same sticker you have on your chrome one. Olds engines look mean with just black and gold, no chrome.

X2!!!!!!

thats a real good idea!

What about black wrinkle? Give it a little "tougher" look. I might try that 8)

work in progress.

Finished getting dents and stuff out of the covers and getting rid of the "summit" stamp on my freebie air cleaner lid. Covers are in primer, waiting for them to dry, still smoothing out the lid.
