Gathering up a parts list for the vette brakes on my cutlass. I'm still running the stock spindle on my car. I was on UMI's website looking at their brackets & saw they said to either use a milled down rotor as a hub or a wilwood 270-12304 hub.

Anyone know if that's the same hub that is included in their complete hub & bracket kit?

I wouldn't be opposed to that either but my local junkyard seems to have a shortage of them. Since I'm balling on a budget I might just work with what I have

here is a pic of one the rotors i machined down on a brake lathe for my vette front brake upgrade i did many years ago. its only of the rotor. i started by drilling holes around the base of the braking surface to separate the center hub portion from the rotor area. then i chucked it up on the lathe and finished it. i also modified the spindle/knuckle myself and made my own brackets. not easily done, just poor enough and determined.

Wow interesting so I bought blazer spindles but I could've just milled down my original rotors and bought brackets, calipers and done the Corvette brakes instead?

You could have but then it all depends how much you spent on the parts. It also depends when you got your spindles. UMI came out with these a couple of years ago.

If you got blazer spindles with new bearings and corvette brakes it would be similar to buying umi's kit. The nice thing with the umi kit is using the existing stuff.
