Thinkin of usin this stuff on my cutlass. Anybody ever used it? Tell me what u think.

Used it on multiple cars...
My tips from experience:
Prep, prep, prep...
No more than 3 LIGHT coats.
Give them a quick buff, little more over the actual bulb itself.

That way it still can look real dark, but the light shows through well also.
Had it done on a few cars with those steps, and they have never been a problem.

That sounds good. I jus flat blacked my cutlass and I guess I'm gonna spray my tail lights and marker lights. I seen that gas was pretty good for gettin it off if it doesn't turn out right . I will probably only doe two coats though so the cops won't get all bent out of shape.

Imma be doing this to my Monte soon but I'm also going to be putting in led bulbs. That way they will still be nice and bright.

Yes I'm a ISS or a commercial specialists at oreillys and we jus recently started carrying the led bulbs that are the replacement for factory bulbs so I'm gonna give them a try.

Practiced on a couple tail light lenses I had for other cars. Never could get the stuff to come out how I wanted. Always came out course and not smooth. Sanded the lenses prior, after, during, you name it, had a couple to practice on and I never got it to come out smooth and glassy. Used a clear over it and still didn't get what I wanted. So far out of the 3 or 4 sets I have seen in person they all came out that way as well. So either I am expecting something different than what the product does or I'm making it harder than it is.

I didn't like it. If you held the lens up to the light it had a purple tint to it.

A far better method in my opinion is to do it like my friend Black Sheep here on the board. He uses automotive clear coat and then takes a black base coat paint and mixes it with the clear until he gets the tint shade he wants.

Turns out really nice:

Actually, I take clear basecoat (also called "blending clear") and add drops of black base to it. I do real thin, multible coats and "sneak up" on the shade that I like. Then 2 coats of clear and i'm done. If I get dust in the clear, there's enough to buff it out. All this is thru a spray gun, no cans.
