Vin number confusion

So I decided to decode the Vin on my 79 elco and it has a 0 where the letter should be that deaignatea engine.
Vin:1w8029r484307

That 0 is part of the 1W80 (1-Chevrolet, W-model El Camino, 8-1/2ton "El Camino", 0-sedan pickup). Under the the car line it would be W-Malibu Classic/El Camino, 80-sedan pickup. The rest would read 2-231ci Buick, 9-year, R-GMAD Arlington, 484307-sequential build number.

Really?? That's interesting. It has a v8 in it. Guess it was swapped.
