Has anyone used the W30 hood from US Body Source? I'm ordering one in a month or so and wondering what I'm in for as far as the fit and how straight the fiberglass is. (black car) Thanks.

Re: W25 Hood 78-87

Hope you have a good body man... 😀
Lots of work to be done to get all the lines to match up and the rear of the hood to sit right at the cowl.
And it's not functional, make sure to buy their air box to go with it because they will not sell you one outright for some reason :?
See if VFN Fiberglass has theirs done yet, it looks different, sits up too high, scoops are big and has an ugly bump in the middle at the back... too bad they messed that up, I was gonna buy two of them.
As Joe Dirte says, "It's not what you like... it's the consumer."
Hope they'll realize that.
Some say the scoop angle is off on these hoods and looks bad but I think it looks awesome and more agressive looking, goes better with the sharp lines of the car, looks better in person...
Their fitment however is probably much better and it has an air box, that's the only plus.

BTW it's a W25 hood 😛

Thanks for the info. I kinda figured it wasn't gonna be plug and play. Sucks ya pay all that money and have to do all that work. I'm getting it anyway, I have a 30 plus year bodyman workin on the car. That is one awesome Cutlass you have. John

The option code for the hood was actually W25. W27 was the rear diff cover to my knowledge. W30 was the complete "package" so to speak. As in the car itself.

Thanks!
Your guy shouldn't have any problems, it's not for the amature.
One word of caution, don't close the hood in the middle, grab the two ends and close that way.
The scoop runners in the middle formed to very small cracks on mine since the spring was too weak to pop it up and my mechanism is crappy. I had to push down to open a few times and it wound up cracking.
These hoods are heavy but sturdy.

This is an issue no matter what. The original W25 hoods all have this problem. It's just the nature of the beast.

One of the reasons I've decided not to install the one I have on my car. That and I want more room to play under the hood. 🙂

I always loved the look of them hoods but I wouldnt shell out any money unless it was functunal and that fiberglass one doesnt look like it is. Just my opinion and good luck with it!

No the US Body Sources are not functional, you have to cutout the openings in the scoops and install an air box. Only the fronts of my scoops are cut out, I need to install and air box still. Probably be on my bucket list this summer...
