I'm new to this forum, but have owned a 1983 Malibu wagon since 1985. Yes, it has about 300K miles on the original 305 and 250 trans. The question is concerning the doors. Just by accident, I have located a very nice almost rust free 1985 G body Bonneville 4 door sedan that had an engine fire. From what I have read, I think the front doors would interchange, right? But I understand that the windows in the rear doors are different. Would the door skins on the back doors and the rest of the door be the same, if not the glass and window frame components? Anyone out there got this mix and match figured out. :blam:

The front doors would be the same, you can use the lower part of the rear doors, just have to weld on the top part of the door frame from a wagon.

X2. I thought there were interchangable, and they aren't due to a slope in the sedan's roofline.

Well, I took measurements of those doors below the beltline and they seem to confirm that the doorskins and bottoms are the same although I haven't tried to mount them. I do know for sure that the rear door glass and surrounding frame would not be usable. I would probably just use the doorskins from the rears. I don't think I would try welding in that frame and getting the proper alignment. Long story short, there are 4 less nice doors going to the crusher and thanks to Pick And Pull's half off Thanksgiving sale, I paid only $150 for all four doors. 😀

Excellent news. It's nearly impossible to find rust free doors around here which is why I grabbed the one I did. I may as well sell it though unless it has the vent window motor and switch. It came off a Brougham.
