Hey all. I just picked up my first G-body - an '80 Malibu Classic Wagon. It is pretty solid old car, but has a couple issues that I need to work through. I am hoping to make this my new low budget DD, so I am not getting too wild with any restorations. Just looking to get it running better, pick up some wheels, lower it, and fix up the body.

This seems to be a great resource, but I am unsure about one thing - Will regular Malibu / El Camino Rocker panels work for the wagon? I only need a drivers side and the only first 20" or so is rotted (from the front fender). Should I get these from Dixie Monte Carlo or ebay? Is there a better resource?

Thanks ahead of time and I will post some pics of my progress!

You could check out this company: https://ecat.shermanparts.com/base/welcome.php
Although I don't see any rocker panels listed for a wagon. I suppose you can use a 2-dr rocker and cut it to size and graft it in.
...or cut one out a junker/ parts car. I'm sure a 4-dr rocker panel would be the same. If you're fairly handy with sheet metal, perhaps you can fashion your own patch panel. Just another thought.

Definitely post some pics.

Four door and wagon rockers will be the same. Don't know about two door rockers.

The 2-dr rocker panels are definitely different than a 4-dr/wagon rocker panel. At least the part #'s indicate that. I was thinking if he had to, he could use a section from a 2-dr rocker panel and cut out the bad section of his existing panel and weld in the new piece. Probably still easier to cut out the whole panel and replace it with a new piece.
