Doing some repair to my 80 wagon's rear weatherstrip area. And doing so I removed the rear glass( carefully ). I once saw an image in a GM service manual that states what is the proper torque value for the bolts that attach the wagon rear glass to the hinges. LAST thing I want to do is end up with a shattered rear glass. Anyone have an 80 malibu service manual that has time to refer to this topic and let me kno the factory bolt torque , I would be grateful. Have a good day!

Thanks a bunch Bro. I didn't see the pic that I was looking for. But after detailed reading in the "Tailgate Glass Removal" section , I see where they suggest 72in/lb for the glass hinge reinstall. Man That sounds like a lot. But Ill see what that feels like!!!( I need to get one of those service manuals.) What year is your manual for? Love the pics too. Thanks for your time and have a Good day.......

There are plastic gaskets underneath the bolt heads IIRC. Clean and red Loctite the threads.

Yeah I saw that torque value. Tightening those bolts are just SCARRY to me. Without the back glass I don't know if I even have a wagon. Thanks anyway....

As long as you keep in mind that you're tightening bolts against glass. I've never had a problem by just snugging them up.
