I love the look of a hot rod wagon. You just don't see 'em around here ( at all ). Thinking of buying one but don't know if I can or want to spend enough money to make it fast. So to start what does your wagon weigh? I bet there is a bunch of weight in inside trim , sound deadener , and carpet.
But hell I always wanted a Dart 400ci roller motor. 500hp ought to do it!!!!!!!

Same mastic and carpet as the rest of the line in the passenger area. Not all wagons have carpet in the cargo area...the biggest killer is the load floor and mastic in the cargo area. Worse if the previous owner was a beekeeper...bet I took 100 pounds of dirt/honey out of the back of a wagon I bought a few years back...true story.

I would say the extra glass, the load floor, and the added weight of the tailgate shell are probably the only real penalty. It's been a while since I had a trunk car, tha gate might be close to the same weight as the decklid, since it's half the size. The extra length of the roof can't add much...they're flimsy as all get out.

You should ask over on MR...I know it's been discussed before.

Wagons are best for going fast. Better weight transfer over the rear wheels so your wheels stick better not spin when you leave the lights. Just my $.02
