Well the Wagon is home and running. Of course it needs a serious tune up. New Plugs and wires, which are in the back just waiting for me to feel like doing, and the new carb needs to be tuned as well. I have always run Quads and can get them pretty close but I couldn't afford a new one so I went with a Summit 650. Anyone tried to find a good mechanic lately that knows ANYTHING about carbs? The headers leak like they all do when you don't weld them so I went old school and got some Donuts. Again, waiting for me to feel like putting them in. Burned up the speedo cable cause I didn't tie it away from the header when I noticed it. Pep-Boys was the only place in town that carried it but I think I screwed it up putting in the trans yesterday. Haven't driven it yet to see if it works and wouldn't you know, I broke the speedo needle playing with it :blam: while I had it out. Thank God for supperglue. Did a little clean up while I was messing around and threw some paint around the engine compartment. Nothing fancy just covering up some bare spots to protect some of the bare metal. Got the new steering linkage in and lined up. Man what a difference. Now just gotta snag an F-body box and replace the rag joint. Something else most of the Parts houses have no idea what it is. Started checking prices on a new sending unit for the fuel tank. Think I'm gonna just try and fix the ground on the one I have. All I have found are between $60 and $100. I'll let ya know. Replaced the front tires with 215/60s but can't find a 245+/60 in a 15inch tire for the back. Cooper was the only people that still make them and two are $300+. Think I should have gone with the 65s. Maybe next time. I did get them used so they were cheap. The one that were on there were dry rotted. They'd been on for 5 years. 4 1/2 of which it was sitting. Grand-Daughter loves it. Wife and one kid hates it but hey,I didn't get it for them. Just having fun now that I got something to tinker with and enjoy driving again. Had a line on a 200-4R and rear out of an '86 Camino for @$200 but wouldn't you know, the wife's Jeep's water pump went south so I had to use that money to fix her's. Oh well. Such is life. Enjoy. 😀
