So i have been looking into buying a G-body for a while. really want a project and know that it will all ways be a project. I have a few cutlass that i want to go and look at.

What I am wondering is:

What are problem areas that i should look at? Body, interior, ETC

Things to stay away from?

There maybe nothing, but that is why i am asking.

frame rusted out in the back....
rusted out trunk....
rusted out bumper in the back...
doors rusted out at the bottom...
you do not want one with dents in the rear panels...
make sure the the grill things are there and they work...
make sure the fuel and brake lines are good...
little holes in the body can be fixed....
and if it has a vinyl top tht it is not rusted out under it...

I was with you til this one. Mine was hit in the rear and I easily fixed it.

Where you at?

i have a 84 calais for sale.. all navy hard top buckets, not 100% rust free but it is solid or it would have been ling gone. has a 305 and 350 transmission set in it right now with most parts to make it run. i work too much, have kids and too many projects. and i have a 442 i am restoring now so this is years away from me getting to it. 1800 bucks

I agree this one is not that big of a deal my 83 has a gouge in it but noting a little time wont fix. And if hes looking for a project then the only thing to worry about is the frame.
