Anybody know of a more economical service than carfax?

When I was buying my car 2 years ago I used VINaudit.com, which is cheaper than carfax and gave me the best warm fuzzy before I bought of what type of information I'd get. I recommend checking a few different sites, maybe somebody will have a package deal to check multiple (unlimited) VINs

When I looked up a few a while back, CarFax was remarkably bad at finding meaningful data on old VINs before 1990.

Instavin claims to have the most current info. If I try it, I'll post up.
