and its been all over this site and countless others BUT, i am trying to put together a list of vehicles that the disc brakes upgrade can be taken out of, the rear discs and/or larger fronts... so if you have done the disc brake conversion, please comment with what vehicle you took them out of and any mods you had to make to get them to work/fit, and your HONEST opinion on hpw well they work... i have never done a conversion, but i have done everything else when it comes to brakes, and the conversion is something i would really like to get done... thank you everyone, for all of your past, present, and future knowledge you have shared with me, if it wasnt for you guys, my cars would still be sitting outside in pieces... your help/knowledge/photos make me strive to make my gbody better... so thank you all...

Re: i know its been discussed before

anybody?

The ls1 camaro rear brakes are a simple mod and are simple to install. Just remove the backing plates, abudment brackets and calipers. There are a few nice write ups on this site. For the front, a simple upgrade would be to take 2wd blazer early 2000's. take the spindle, wheel bearing, rotor and caliper. This will give you a dual caliper and larger rotor and also opens the door for the corvette or ls1 upgrade for the front as well, but those take a little more modding.

Here are some helpful links.

The most popular low cost brake upgrades for G bodies are the Blazer front brake upgrade and the LS1 rear disk brake conversion. I have done both with excellent results. Do a search and you will find everything you need.

x1 +3 other guys with Gbodies. 2 of which switched from the B-Body fronts to the Blazer setup. The only issues with the LS1 rears is they are so close to contacting the frame on lowered cars or cars with soft suspension

currently in the process of doing my upgrades... most bang for the dollar has already been said, blazer fronts, and LS rears... fronts are the purest form of bolt-ins you'll find, and there are PLENTY of write-ups and youtube videos on how to upgrade the rears. started mine using rear brakes from a B-bodied caprice, but backings won't work with any of the rotors I tried, so luckily, the local LKQ had 1 2000 camaro with 90% of the stuff left behind that I needed 😀 , and on 1/2 off day!

awesome, thanks for the info guys...
