Wanted Grand Prix console parts for my 86

I'm new to this site but, have been a member of montecarloss.com for over 10 years. I have recently bought a pretty nice 86 Grand Prix that I'm starting to restore and need the center trim piece for the console.
It's part number 10005583. If you have this or know where I can find it, I would appreciate the info.
I will buy a complete console if necessary but, I only need this trim piece.
Thanks

Since I can't find a picture of the part number you mention, are you talking about the chrome strip that separates the carpet from the plastic on the side of the console? If not, please explain or attach a pic of the item you're searching for. I might have what you need, but not sure.

No. This is the Gray plastic center trim section that starts at the ashtray area and goes all the way to the back under the arm rest. My ash tray is good, the gear selector piece is good and so is my armrest. Its just the Gray plastic center section is shot.
I appreciate the reply.

Yes, I now know what you mean. Unfortunately, that's the piece I re-used from my original console when I created the new one (see pictures). BTW, mine originally was burgundy, matching the original interior colour -- they can easily be repainted to match your interior -- so don't limit your search to only gray trim.

If you want to save some money, you can easily fix your piece. All you need is some ABS glue and a short strip of ABS. Cut the piece of ABS to size and glue it under your trim to tighten up the crack. Then, find yourself some material to cover the top and you're all set. I used carbon fiber, but other materials can be substituted.

Hope this helps somewhat...

I'm looking for that piece as well because I had the same issue. I didn't think finding that piece or the whole console would be so hard so i threw the one I had in the trash. Boy am I kicking myself now but I'm not giving up hope.

That is a difficult piece to find without a complete console.
kiko, the dash and console look amazing!
Did you wrap both in vinyl and suede?
What else did you do to that dash? It looks totally different..

grandamman,

Thanks for the compliment. The dash and console were completely modified. I used the original plastic structure as a skeleton over which I layered plastic and fiberglass. I made adjustments -- cut-off some parts and molded others. I tried to make it look as stock as possible. Only someone familiar with the GP would see the subtle differences.

The dash and upper structure of the console are covered in leather (plus some carbon fibre). The lower part of the console is covered in suede. This combo was chosen to make everything coherent and match the rest of the interior -- the seats are leather with suede inserts where the bum rests, to prevent sliding around during cornering 😉
