Gotta say I'm kinda impressed with how much dead weight I pulled off my 79 El Camino by modernizing the cooling systems. The old a/c compressor alone has to way around 20 lbs. compared to the new little Sanden. All the thick brackets alone gotta be another ten lbs.
Getting rid of the old fan shroud, fan, and copper/brass rad and heater core are good for alot more. That's an added bonus I hadn't even thought about before.
