Ok guys, the time has come for me to order myself some 2 inch drop spindles. I've been researching them on the net but mostly for s10's. I'm leaning more towards the Western Chassis spindles for a couple of reasons: 1st company to do drop spindles, Made in the U.S.A., and I've read several places that there are less clearance issues. I've read that the belltech stuff pushes your wheels out 1/4 of an inch and I don't want that because the c5 brake upgrade with gbody hubs milled down to fit the vette rotors pushes everything out 1/4 of an inch and there is no way around that one. If you guys could just give me your opinions, I would really appreciate them. Also, I read that uneek1976 on this forum used the belltech stuff and bottoms out pretty easy. Thanks in advance guys.

i have the 2" drop spindles on my el camino for beltech and they didnt push the wheel out at all. they were great! they came powdercoated and went in with no problems at all, my friend chris put them on his monte ss too and they went in easy and didnt push the wheel out or anything. hope this helps

What size wheels are you running? I'm going to be running an 18 inch wheel at the least, but I think I'm gonna end up running a 20 If I can find some with the right back space and offset. It does make me feel better that you had a good turnout with the belltech components.
sorry to get back to you so late but i have stock 15'' monte ss rims

I had the ones Summit sold back in the early 90's and I thought they were great for the price. I'll be throwing a set of the Ground Force spindles on my GP shortly. I wasn't searching for those in particular but I got a great deal on them.

As for bottoming out goes, there's more to it than just slapping spindles on and calling it a day. You have to consider the rest of the suspension pieces too. Are your springs worn out? Are you using ordinary replacement shocks? Keep in mind that shocks are set to compress & rebound at specified heights. If you're using cheap replacement shocks, they're designed to operate at factory heights.

The cheapest bang for the buck is probably the Belltech Nitro drop shocks. If you want something better you might want an adjustable shock instead. I'm no expert but that's my take on it.

Well I already have new Moog MCSS replacement springs and new poly bushings for the front. I will upgrade to Spohn Tubular uppers and lowers when my finances permit. Most things are on hold since I'm in the process of buying my first home. Should be closing at the end of the month. As far as shocks go, I was wanting to do a Bilstein shock all the way around but dont know if they make a 2 inch shorter shock for the rear. I'm still looking for more opinions but this was some good info. I also have new poly body bushings so the body should sit a lil higher than it does now since it had the original mushed OEM bushings.

I think you'll be fine then. I wanted to go tubular with my a-arms but i just decided to refurbish them and go with energy suspension bushings so the extra money could be put elsewhere....like the 455 😀

As far as the spindles go, I think I've decided to go with 2102 from Belltech. It will cost more but the Corvette big brake option will be easier"I think" in the long run. As stated before, I already have new MOOG springs for the front and new poly bushings for the upper and lower front a-arms as well as poly body bushings.
