it is a 1980 olds cutlass calais is it an a body or g body i have been told many different things and it is hard to get used parts for. p.s. what will interchange interior wise.

78-80 (G-BODYS) are technically A-BODYS it's the same platform they just changed the designation in 81
A body. While there are some differences overall it's the same frame. GM just switched is nomenclature from A to G because it's A body line was going FWD.
It was '82 that GM changed them from A to G. All GM books (parts & service) from '81 for my car shows A. I worked at a auto body supply shop that had PPG shop advertising that actually listed the FWD as G for '82 (dated for the spring of '81). Wish I took some before I left.
so my biggest problem is getting interior parts like a dash pad,and something called a adaptor ,abig plastic piece that the gauges bolt up to. i thought i had one at pull and save but someone tore up the dash to get one small part ,the speedometer,but i was able to get the printed circut board off the back but all the gauges were smashed damn.
