Whats up fellas, I'm doing a carbed LT1 swap in my '84 Cutlass. I'm looking into long tube headers now. I know i can use f-body headers, but there so expensive. I was told i can use G body headers as long as they are 1 3/4'', to fit over the D shape ports. Is there any out there that will work with the LT1's angle spark plugs? If so what what brand and part # do i need? THANKS ALOT.

The exhaust bolt holes on the standard SBC are on the centerlines of the ports. The holes on the LT1 are... uh, I don't remember if they're higher or lower at the moment, but they're not on the centerline.

When I did an LT1 for a G conversion I found some cast iron pickup truck manifolds and had to do a little grinding in the manifolds to make the ports line up. For headers, you might have to slot the bolt holes a bit. No big deal.

I put a set of regular sbc block hugger headers on an LT1 in an older chassis. The first gaskets that I used didn't seal well and leaked. I tried a different gasket and it sealed up ok.

My uncle needed LT1 headers for his '66 El Camino and couldn't find any. He called Sanderson to see if maybe they had some even though they weren't listed. The guy said "no problem" and fabbed a set up. They looked and fit beautifully. Sanderson's stuff aint cheap but it sure is nice.
