okay this is mounted on my 1979 El Camino pretty sure it has something to do with the brakes but I want to get the exact name for it maybe I can replace it also if anyone knows what that little wire that's running out of it is called that would help too Thanks in advance guys
 
That,s a proportioning valve with a brake warning light indicator. If it hasn't had extremely dirty fluid run through it , it's probably fine as is, they tend to leak through a bleed hole when their seizing up. Places like inline tubing carry them.

hey thanks that helps alot, would you happen to know how the brake light indicator works more less what it's connected to?
