First pic while trying to fix My cluster on the 79 H/o I found this wire.
Next on the cruise control box on the drivers fender does the trans speed cable from the transmission connect to the top connection or bottom. Right now the dash cable goes to the bottom and the trans cable goes to the top connection in the cruise box.
When I spin the cable connection to the speedometer the needle moves correctly.

Looks familiar, but don't recall where I may have seen something like that. Looks like a quick connecting ground wire, can you trace the other end back to a source?

It connects to the metal side of the speedocable to reduce radio interference.
 
It was hanging out of the same hole in the fire wall as the speedometer cable so makes sense. Thanks I’ll try that it also looks like a goof fit over that cable.
