What part is this?

I figure it is some part of an exhaust. How does it work, where does it go and anything else you could tell me. Thanks, the info here is great.

It's a EFE (early fuel evaporation) valve. The valve is located between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe, and, It's operated by vacuum and controled by either a thermal vacuum valve or electric solenoid. The valve causes hot exhaust gases to enter the intake manifold heat riser passages and heat the incoming fuel mixture.
