So, my everyday cutlass (my first car) is unfortunately on it's last legs and it's time to get another car. The floor is shot and rusted out, suspension is toast and the 307 motor is on it's way out (leaking just about every fluid).
Most of the lower body rust I've cut out and has since been fiber glassed but I don't think it's worth saving, maybe the doors?. The bumpers are rotted and not worth saving at all.

I was going to strip the car down and scrap the rest
Here are the parts I was going to strip off:
Back bumper cover (it's straight, unlike the many others I've seen (including my 85) that are warped)
Tail lights/Reverse Lights
Wood Grain interior trim (it's like new)
15" Olds rally rims
Spare, tire jack
Alternator
Front headlight bezels
Grills
Hood Ornament
Side markers (Front and rear)
Chrome trim + plastic clips
Door jam vents
Door Sills
Overflow tanks

The interior is in good shape with only one tear on bench seat and only a few cracks in the dash.
Is there anything in the interior that would be worth saving?

Is there anything anyone knows would be worth saving?
Front clip (which is actually from an earlier year most likely an 85)?
Hood (no rust)?
Trunk(no rust)?

HERE are a few shots, I'll try and get some more of the interior (oh and the paint is ruined, got screwed over by the "painter" who really didn't know what he was doing, needless to say it doesn't look like the pictures which where taken the day I got it back)

Re: What parts to save from my 1988 Cutlass (time for a new

If it's a 200-4R I'd hang on to it along with the crossmember.

Re: What parts to save from my 1988 Cutlass (time for a new

Be surprised everything from clips to bolts will sell. I wish I was able to keep my spare parts but no room for it.

Re: What parts to save from my 1988 Cutlass (time for a new

If I had the room I'd park it and just sell it off to people who needed it part by part.
I've got a shed and rafters in my garage to store some stuff so I'll take off as much as I can that isn't rotted out.

most of this stuff I do not have a need for so if you know anyone looking for anything specfic let me know (I don't sell parts for a living so I won't be charging an arm and a leg) and I'd pull it off and set it aside... the only thing I plan on keeping is the plastic bumper cover and a few trim pieces here and there.

Re: What parts to save from my 1988 Cutlass (time for a new

Are you asking what you should keep for yourself or what you should keep for sale or both ?

I have a small shopping list for a car with blue interior ( all stuff I don't need but would like for spares if the price is right ! )
kick panels
seat belts
lower door panels
rad top plate
mirrors ( bullet type )
200-4r crossmember
200-4r driveshaft

Definitely keep all the exterior trim if it's good (wheel opening moldings, hood edge molding, roof and pillar moldings, etc.)
Dash if not cracked.

In addition to what's already been listed, I would add the dome lamp, if it's got the reading lamps.
Maybe even the center rear stop lamp if it's working properly.

Re: What parts to save from my 1988 Cutlass (time for a new

The only thing I need off the car is the rear bumper cover and some small trim pieces on the trunk.

The rest I'm going to put aside and sell. I'm local to southern Ontario and i know their are quite a few gbodys down this way so I figured I'd take a list of who needs/wants what or what people are looking for. I'm also not planning to make a whole wack of coin either.
