Hi there took my regal out to the drags this weekend for fun. It was a street car shoot out. However the rules at the local 1/8 mile says that the tires must not only be dot tires, but must not be a drag et type tire. This is the first time I have had to try to pedal this thing down the track with only 245/60/15 bfg's under it damn is it tough. I was wondering if any of you knows a way first to get rid of wheel hop? I can not lower my upper trialing arms because of the three inch pipes and the twelve bolt. As well is there any hidden traction that any of you can think of even short shifting 2nd gear and being gentle on the clutch once I hit 4000 rpm the tires just light fire I was running with various tire pressures but my normaly quick 5.00 second car was labouring around 6.6 and not consistent at all. ( kinda required in bracket racing) ant ways any responces would help thank you.
oh yes it has a 390 sbc with 6 inch rods 310 lunati camshaft dart prow 1 alum heads preformer rpm with 1000 q jet borg warner t 5 ( slightly modified and braced ) mcleod twin disc under scatter shield 12 bolt rear diff tail lights and a radio lol. and of course it's spooled with 4 wheel disc brakes and a dodge tortion bar for a rear sway bar.
