What kind are these? What years could you get them? How much did they cost? What size are they? Any pics of them on other Montes, gbodies, or anything else even?
The most common name i've heard is just "Checkered Flag" or "Checker Board" wheels, but have even heard them named "Earnhardt" wheels. Why I don't know (racing theme I guess). They are all 14" wheels from the factory if I am not mistaken. The picture you posted is of an LS model, so it's an '86, '87 or '88, but I've seen them more often on '85 and '86 SC. Had a set on my '85 SC project when I bought it from the original owner that ordered them. I had them posted on CraigsList for $100 for at least 6 months. CHEAP with (semi usable lol) rubber. A decent amount of email replys, but no one came out to look. Finally sold the set of 4 for $80 bucks. When they are on Ebay, they usually want WAY too much, so I guess I'd keep an eye out on other sights if you're looking for a set. Good Luck. ~R~
Wheels in question were available as an option on the Monte Carlo from 1981-88. They were not available on the SS model unless it was a Mexico built car. Size is 14 x 6.5 and they are commonly called "Checkerboard" wheels.
I purchased my set out a local wrecking yard for $20.00 per wheel. Spent 2 months refinishing them due to the previous owner stripping the clear coat off with a wire wheel. Below is a shot of them on my '86 El Camino, and where they now reside as storage wheels for my 79 Monte Carlo.
