my horns don't work and it seems to be the relay. i'd know for sure if i could find the damn thing! :x anyone know? i've actually gone through my haynes and my GM service manual and neither one says where to find them.

According to my book it should be one of two places. Either behind the dash just underneath the headlight switch. (Door and key buzzers/chimes are there) or if your car has a "reminder" package, the horn relay is taped to the main wiring harness going in to the fuse block.

Do you get any kink of 'click' when you push the horn button? (I mean behind the dash?)

i was, now i'm not. with my luck, it's not beyond the realm of possibility for 2 things to go at once. :blam: actually, it's probable.

lol. I hear you there. I use to have power locks in my monte. Then I had an occasional click from around the glove box. Now I've just got some super fancy chrome buttons that say lock on them.

yeah, i've got power unlocks, not power locks.

Mine used to do the same thing. :x

If it only works in one direction, the plastic rocker that sits on top of the contacts has probably worn. You can take apart the switch and bend the contact strip a bit to make it work again.

actually it's a linkage problem, probably corrosion. when you hit the switch it tries to lock but doesn't have the power to move things far enough. but that's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down the list. the horn i need for the inspection.
