I was just wondering where you guys have found your rear diffs? I currently have a 7.5" 10 bolt in my Cutty. Is Craigslist the best or car-parts.com? I think I have exhausted those sites. I don't mind driving a little or even having one shipped. I am in central(triad) of NC if anyone has one that is local.
Thanks,
J

cutlass 442 ,GN...is just a couple places to find them.but by now you have to keep a sharp eye out in all g-bodys so may people have been doing swaps one can be right under your nose.

Check through the parts forsale sections on turbobuick.com and turbobuicks.com

Also make sure you get schooled on what an 8.5" rear looks like...there are plenty of people out there trying to convince you the 7.5"/7.625" rear they have is a "GN rear". It may have posi but if it has fangs on the bottom of the case...its not an 8.5", look for the signature triangles sticking off.

yeah! i found my GN 8.5 posi under a unassuming purple Monte Carlo at the junkyard.... with Hotchkis control arms and braces and stock sway bar! All for less then super cheap!! under 200

Also Craigslist is a good source.. a guy was selling a 442 without a title and i called to buy the rear but he wasnt parting it out. He did tell me his buddy had a 442 that they were going to scrap and it still had it's rear axle... so i picked it up

on another note ! its funny how so many people have them and dont have a clue what it looks like lol .

Mine came out of an '86 T-type. I was happy to get one, but a little dissapointed that it was a non posi unit. It's got an Eaton posi & Percision 3.73's now. Too bad I cant drive the car.

also keep an eye out for a-body 8.5 rears there only just a tiny bit wider but are almost a direct bolt in and can normally pick them up for around 100 bucks
